#NorthsideStory: Loose Tooth

Loose Tooth are a Melbourne three-piece who craft sweet guitar pop with frayed edges and swollen hearts. Life-long friends Etta Curry and Nellie Jackson met in crèche and spent nap time dreaming of creating a heavenly racket. Luc Dawson was drafted in on bass to transform their pop sketches into the sort of songs that stick in your head for days.

When Nellie and Luc visited our Studio + Factory + Store in Brunswick East ahead of their gigs at the Brunswick Music Festival, we took the opportunity to discuss everything from their favourite Brunswick hangouts to their perfect day, and of course all things music.  Here’s what they had to say…

What are you most passionate about?
Making fun records.

Why is Melbourne home?
It’s a great part of the world to play music in.

What are your favourite Brunswick hangouts?
The Brunswick Green, The Charles Weston and Etta also quite likes McDonalds at Barkly Square 🙂

What is the best gig you’ve been to and why?
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at the Myer Music Bowl was very moving and the Barkly Boys in Tennant Creek (NT) was indescribable.

What gigs will you be checking out at this year’s Brunswick Music Festival?
All of them 🙂

Nellie – The LUCIA jean in Mid Indigo and ETTA jacket in Indigo.
Luc – The BOWEN jean in Black and LIAM shirt in Fawn.

What does your perfect day entail?
Cats, hanging out with friends and playing good shows!
