#NorthsideStory: P-UniQue

P-UniQue

Young and vibrant Sudanese-Australian rapper, P-UniQue creates highly danceable music that maintains it’s authentic underground sound. When P-UniQue visited our Studio + Factory + Store in Brunswick East ahead of her gig at the Brunswick Music Festival, we took the opportunity to discuss everything from her passions to her perfect day, and of course all things music. Here’s what she had to say…

If you could pick just three words that describe you, what would they be?

Fun, adventurous, talkative.

What are you most passionate about?

I am very passionate about bringing change into my community.  I love working with youth and mentoring them.

Why is Melbourne home?

I've been living in Melbourne for over 16 years and I've known no other place like it.  There are so many opportunities to make something of yourself here.

What are your favourite Brunswick hangouts?

I love exploring the cafes and bars in Brunswick when I get the chance.

What is the best gig you’ve been to and why?

Ju Manji Festival was one of my favourite gigs because one of my favourite artists, Lil Wayne was headlining and the entire line up itself was incredible.

What gigs will you be checking out at this year’s Brunswick Music Festival?

I'm looking forward to the Sydney Road Street Party and performing at the Brunswick Mechanics Institute on Saturday 16th March.

What Denimsmith items will you be wearing at the Brunswick Music Festival?

The MARCELLA Jacket and AUBREY Crop Jean, both in Dark Indigo.
(In our Factory, P-UniQue wears our new AW19 WREN Jacket and WREN Jean in Blue, which drop on Saturday 16th March).

What does your perfect day entail?

Waking up early and refreshed, having a morning hike and then going to the studio for the duration of the day.

What is your favourite saying, song, or motto in which you live by?

Live everyday like it's your last.

As part of the Brunswick Music Festival, P-UniQue will be playing on Saturday 16th March.  To find out more and to purchase your tickets, visit Brunswick Music Festival.
